Cleaning Glass Water Bottles

Rinse your soulbottle with warm soapy water at the end of the day. Feel free to use your bottle brush, for example, our vegan soulbrush, which is perfectly sized for all our drinking bottles.

Clean thoroughly every 1–2 weeks to prevent bacterial growth and deposits.
- Remove the lid and rubber seal.
- Clean both separately (see below).
- Optional: soak – with dish soap, vinegar or baking soda. Leave open, possibly overnight.
- We recommend cleaning with a brush now. This way you will enjoy your soulmate for a long time.
- Dishwasher? Yes, but only the glass body and only WITHOUT gold print.
- The most important thing? Let it dry. Bacteria love moisture.

Every 1–2 weeks, it's time for a deep clean. Goal: no breeding ground for bacteria.
- Remove the rubber seal and clean it separately (see below).
- Optional: soak – with dish soap, vinegar, or baking soda. Leave open, possibly overnight.
- For mechanical cleaning, use a bottle brush for the gentlest approach, or cleaning beads for stubborn deposits, e.g., from coffee.
- Dishwasher? Only for our plain version made of uncoated stainless steel.
- Here too: always let it dry thoroughly. Bacteria love moisture.

Simply let the soapy water run over your water bottle when rinsing it.
In addition, you can regularly hand wash the individual parts with a mild detergent.
The most important thing with the rubber ring: remove it from the lid and let everything dry thoroughly!

- Empty the bottle completely once and rinse with warm water.
- Add a few drops of mild dish soap and clean with a bottle brush.
- Is the smell persistent? Then fill with warm water + a little baking soda and let it soak overnight.
- Afterwards, rinse thoroughly and let the bottle air dry open.
- Important: Clean the lid and rubber ring separately - odors particularly like to hide there.
- Rinse the bottle as soon as possible after tea or coffee to prevent anything from setting.
- For discoloration, fill with warm water and some baking soda.
- Let the mixture sit for a few hours.
- Gently clean with a bottle brush.
- Finally, rinse thoroughly – and boom, your bottle will look less like a Monday morning again.
- Do not continue to use the bottle; empty it immediately.
- Separate the lid, seal, and all removable parts.
- Clean everything thoroughly with hot water and mild dish soap.
- Then allow it to dry completely – ideally open and with plenty of air circulation.
- If stains remain or mold reappears –> check the deep cleaning section above for your specific soulbottle.
- Ideally, rinse your water bottle briefly after each use.
- If you use it daily, it should be cleaned daily.
- The lid and seal regularly need extra attention, as residue tends to accumulate there.
- A more thorough cleaning in between is particularly worthwhile if more than just water was in the bottle.
- In short: better to rinse once too often than to be on the go with a smelly bottle for too long.
- Remove the rubber ring from the lid and examine it closely.
- For light stains: clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely.
- If the ring is cracked, porous, or permanently discolored, it should be replaced.
- A fresh sealing ring ensures that your soulbottle remains leak-proof, hygienic, and ready for use.
And yes: sometimes even a small spare part needs its grand entrance.
